She's pushing to get it put back in in the Senate version... 2. Anne Sayer, Program Director of the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters discussed various items in the budget that affect the environment, including implementation of the Great Lakes Compact, increased tipping fees to prevent out-of-state dumping, and maintaing the Coastal Management Grant in the DOA. They would like the Senate to increase/restore funding for businesses that develop alternative/renewable energy, and also to fund enforcement/implementation of our polluted runoff laws... 3. Linda Ketchum of the Madison Urban Ministry spoke to us about why her group and a broad coalition of others are lobying the Democratic Caucus to make changes to taxation on low-income housing providers in their version of the budget. 4. Katie Bellinger of FAIR Wisconsin had a positive reaction to the Assembly keeping domestic partnerships in the budget by a 50-48 vote... 5. Registration opened today for the Badgercare Core Plus plan, which provides benefits for low-income childless adults.
